Hey liberals, how about protesting about freedom of expression and thought under Islam?

(Islamabad) The world over, we hear about the wonders of Islam. How it respects other faiths. Really? How it respects women. Really? We even hear how Islam is a champion for human rights. Yeah, right. The thing is, Islam is an intolerant cult which masquerades as a magnanimous religion. But the facts on the ground say otherwise. I mean, while Muslims living in the non-Islamic world protest about their so called rights: for the right to live under Sharia law, for the right to force women to cover up, for the right to play the victim card in which to silence critics whenever odious Islamic practices turn up on the news, they don't mention how they treat others. I mean, when was the last time you heard any Muslim protesting on the streets over Assad, Hamas, Hezballah, Saddam or even the Taliban?

Now, lets look at how Muslims treat others when they are the majority. In a large number of Islamic countries women who don't cover up are arrested, in some they are assaulted, in a few they are murdered.

Minority faiths really are minority faiths in Islamic countries, forbidden to do almost anything. If you upset a Muslim, all he has to do is play the blasphemy card and you are flung in jail.

How about equality for all and freedom of expression? In the West, while Christianity is the majority faith, nobody but nobody is given a hard time for not following Easter, Lent or even Christmas. Now contrast that with Islam which is currently observing its most holy month, Ramadan. This blog has reported time and time again where idiots in the West have tried to force non-Muslims not to offend Muslims by eating in front of them. Excuse me, in the UK I am free to do as I bloody well please, and if a Muslim is offended by me eating a bacon sarnie then he has the right to bugger off elsewhere. But spare a thought for those people who live in Islamic lands.

In Pakistan, police arrested and assaulted two men for eating during Ramadan. But get this - the men concerned were not observing Ramadan, and out of respect for people who were, they retired to the confines of their car to enjoy a soft drink. But that wasn't good enough, and the Pakistan thought police nicked them.

Isn't Islam a wonderful faith?
